ABOUT.
Jovan Skylar Aw is an Actor, Director and Producer. He was born and raised in Singapore and is now based in London and represented by Beresford Management.
He started his professional Acting training at Singapore Repertory Theatre’s The Young Company and studied under theatre veteran, Daniel Jenkins. Here, he made his theatrical debut in the leading role of Conor in A Monster Calls by Patrick Ness. Currently in London, he is training under the author of Acting Through Song, Paul Harvard and award-winning Director, Alexander Igbanoi. Additionally, he has participated in Frantic Assembly’s Advanced Training Course under the guidance of Artistic Director Scott Graham. He is constantly working on his craft and is always finding new ways to challenge himself.
In Singapore, he has featured in a range of commercials, television series, and short films. Notable appearances include his role in the upcoming series Game Changer by Comicbook Entertainment. His commercial work includes projects for Universal Studios, SimplyGo, Milo, Shopee, among others. Additionally, he has appeared as himself in the local favourite web series SGAG’s Sedia Show.
Additionally, Jovan also directs and produces his own films. His directorial debut, Short Hair, premiered at the 14th Jogja-NETPAC Asian Film Festival in Indonesia. The second short film which he shot, Sweet Sixteen, was showcased at Objectifs Cinema: Young Guns in Singapore. His third project, I Don’t Know, features him alongside award-winning Actress, Arielle Van Zuijlen, and is currently in post-productions.
He is also an executive producer of the short film, Finger Food, that is directed by the award-winning Actor and Director, Jacob Dudman, and is currently on its festival run. Additionally, aside from narrative films, he has also collaborated with singer-songwriter Alicia DC to produce a music video for her song, We (Oui). He also enjoys working with dancers to create dance short films.
Jovan hopes to collaborate with others to create impactful work that sparks meaningful conversations. He is constantly travelling between London and Singapore and is available for Acting, Directing and Producing work.
